I gave the waffle maker a try, though I’ll admit it could benefit from a quick cheat sheet for operation—I managed to mangle mine, but it still tasted delightful, especially paired with some fresh hot chicken. The variety on offer ensured that everyone in our group was satisfied. My pescatarian companion had no trouble finding plenty of options, including shrimp and grits, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Ordered the Brisket Sandwich with red beans and rice and a side of coleslaw. Excellent. Had to try the excellent pound cake for dessert. Friendly staff. I can’t wait to go back.
We are here for weekend anniversary getaway.We were looking for lunch and happened across Up N Smoke. Amazing food! We will definitely hitting it again! Wish there was one closer to where we live, we would be regulars for sure!
6 stars!!!! Incredible food! The jerk chicken was just like I ate when I lived in South Caicos Island. Ribs Incredible!! Got to speak with a Vietnam Vet that works there. Great guy. Awesome service. Even the couple next table over was talking about how good it was. I had the buffet, everything on it was great! Its a hole in the wall, in a residential neighborhood which as I've learned traveling all over the lower 48, makes the absolute best places to eat. If you're in Michigan City, please stop here. Great service, and you support a true American Marine Corp Vet!
What can I say about my first experience here. Just wow. The portions are gigantic. The food is perfectly cooked, made with love and flavor. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, even at the end of the night. You will not go wrong eating here. If you don't like the food at this place, then you don't like soul food. Try KFC. Pictured: The Pick 2 with Catfish and Fried Chicken, comes with 2 sides, I picked the Mac and Cheese and homemade dressing. Sometimes they run out of things early due to high demand, so check the board above the bar when you walk in. Also, check out the specials, you cannot go wrong.
Customer service is exceptional, the Food is Amazing and my family eats here on a regular basis they know our names, I love this place and Highly Recommend It!!!!!
